The Trick

Close your eyes,
Imagine, you are in a dark room.
There are no windows, nothing, just you.
You try to see yet all you feel are walls,
You try to listen but the silence,
Becomes so loud it threatens to deafen you.
Panic, rage at your inability
Go ahead, scream and shout,
Pound the walls, it dares you to.
Seemingly out of breath and out of air
You realize that you've been tricked
It isn't a room at all but just your mind.
I can't escape, can you?
